Balancing School, Work, and your Side Hustle

Now this is a topic I know plenty about. As a college student trying to build a brand and a business while going to work, I feel the pain of balancing my life. I don't have a method to it all, but here is how I balance school, a job, HustleGen and Creatent.

Of course, as a student we go through 2 cycles, school and break. And at the time of writing, summer just broke so I will review how I handle my work during both periods.

During the year, a large part of my time is spent studying and doing homework along with going to class. It's in-avoidable. So I make it the backbone of those 9 months. My class is the structure. Second comes my job. Since the majority of those reading will have a part time job (not career based), we should fit our jobs around our classes.

Now I have a bit of structure. With class and work figured out, we can implement the more flexible work. Studying and hustling. For me personally, I can study whenever. So third I fix my side hustle around class and work. However, no matter what I always try to work on my businesses at least 4 hours per day, but I prefer 6. And finally, I study in those hours between it all, or on certain days only. Of course around finals, I place studying as a higher priority, until summer.

Summer. The student's favorite time of the year. Sun, booze and chicks (or dudes depending on who you are or what you're into). But not us! We have work to do! Lucky for us, without school to worry about, we are more open to opportunities for our side hustle!

I still base my schedule around my day job. They simply aren't flexible. So we set that as the base. Even if it isn't as important, it is necessary to set the least flexible tasks as our backbone. Even if it only happens every once in a while. And for most of us that's work. Remember that your hustle is important. SO don't set your availability to open. You still need some set, dedicated times to work on you. Even if it means less cash. Try to work as early or late as possible, as most people work during the day. This will give you an opportunity to network more. Summer is the time to get shit done and hustle. You have time on your side. Use it.

However, we're also just kids. Set some time aside for you. Have some free time. Go out. Hang with friends. It's okay to rest every once and a while. Were still young and have time. So enjoy your youth.

I hope this helped. If it did, I would really appreciate you sharing this with your friends and family. You shouldn't keep this knowledge for yourself:)
